The farmers and livestock farmers are absolutely right in their demands, especially after the OPEKEPE scandal, which alone was enough to ignite the anger of the agricultural and livestock world. It is from this world with its hard struggle that we all feed in the cities. So it would be a shame if the abandonment of the state destroys the primary sector of the economy, which has already significantly shrunk because young people abhor agriculture and livestock farming. However, their right to close international roads and divide Greece in two, even for a minute, is UNACCEPTABLE . And it is surprising that all governments after the change of government accept the closure of national roads as a normal action and a right to strike and deal with it with indifference with only police forces against tractors and with chemicals and clubs against the hard-working farmers. And it is good that we did not mourn victims thanks to the wisdom of the Greek Police While the corresponding legislative measures should be taken to tighten the penalties for the perpetrators of such actions. Because the closure of international roads such as: Athens – Gevgelija and Egnatia is of vital importance and foreign citizens and states are harmed and even Europeans who have paid a contribution for their construction. So it is time to end the anachronistic antics of the Left, the squats, strikes for a small fee, surprise work stops in public transport, airports, ports and schools. They should find other ways compatible with our times to send the protest where the political system hurts, namely in vote hunting. Because with the logic of squats, who today could fanaticize a group of workers in communications and the internet to disrupt these? And leave the hospital and the doctor blind and society inactive? They are like the knife-wielders who cut the victim’s artery. They cut the arteries of a country with all that this entails. The current Government, after satisfying the just demands of the agricultural and livestock-raising world, should take the appropriate legislative measures to eliminate such anachronistic actions forever. Unless again if votes, the cause of all the evils of this country, are put forward, over the country’s choice of economically developed countries. (1//12/25)
