GREEK CIVILIZATION – GREEKS AND PHILHELLENES(correction)

By Lt. General (Ret.) K. Ch. Constantinidis

Greek Civilization

Greek Civilization is self-created, Humanistic, and Ecological. Thus far, from prehistoric times, the Greeks have created seven (7) great civilizations: the Pre-Diluvian Civilization of the Giants, the Minoan, the Mycenaean, the Classical, the Alexandrian, the Byzantine, and the Civilization of the European Renaissance.

It exists in complete harmony between human beings and their environment. The Greeks had discovered and experimented with mechanical principles — Hero of Alexandria, Daedalus, Archytas, and others — but they did not put them into practical use, so as not to disturb the balance of the environment.

Greek Civilization also encompasses Science – Truth, Art – Beauty, Spirit, Logos – Dialogue, Music – Theatre – Tragedy – Song, Philosophy, Measure, Nothing in Excess, Know Thyself, the Universe – Divine Mystagogy, and much more.

It is also based on Peaceful Coexistence among individuals, peoples, nations, and religions, as well as on Unity and Cooperation.

Furthermore, Hellenism is:

a/ The Ancestral Religion of the Twelve Gods, and

b/ Orthodoxy, itself a philosophical hybrid of the Greek spirit (Neoplatonism) — the quest for the Divine.

If one delves deeply into the study of the ruined temples and the sacred monasteries, everyone can discover their lost self and establish communion with the Divine.

In order to know Greek Civilization, one must come in person to this blessed land of the gods and experience, for a while, the Greek way of life.

Unfortunately, commercial tourism offers very little in terms of genuine experience and spirit. Such an experience is essential to modern human beings, who have become disconnected from nature and humanistic values and have become attached to technology, now seeking solutions and even salvation from Artificial Intelligence.

Hellenism could offer far more to humanity today. However, the fact that, for nine and a half (9½) centuries, *   Greece has had a bad neighbor — the barbaric Turkish state — has exhausted the vitality of Hellenism in the struggle to preserve Greece’s freedom, through bloody sacrifices.

This spiritually distorted and uncultured neighbor, which settled upon the Greek Ionian Civilization, instead of developing it, suppresses every cultural initiative and is interested only in increasing armaments, making conquests, and expanding military bases.

The so-called “Republic of Turkey” oppresses its people and ethnic groups, keeps its political opponents in prison, maintains its invasion and occupation of almost half of Cyprus, invaded Syria, and continually threatens Greece and its neighbors with war (casus belli).

Greeks and Philhellenes — those who partake in our education and culture — have a duty to promote Greek Humanistic and Ecological Civilization and to disseminate it throughout the world.

This is the duty of every civilized and responsible citizen, regardless of nationality, religion, ideology, gender, and so forth.

At this time, the Greeks proclaim: “Molon Labe” — “Come and Take Them.”
