ARIADNE’S THREAD

Konstantinos Konstantinidis  poet

This year he will not swim He will not see the sea

With the wings of imagination only He will flutter

He will not be blinded by the sun of Athens

He will be deprived of his cool cottage .

The Athenian grill will roast him However,

he will not bend, he goes out and make shopping

From there, he remains on the ramparts

The supreme duty weighs on him

He will not enjoy his familiar harbor this year

He will not chat with his swimming friends

However, there are worse from Fires, wars and the most terrible betrayals

The illnesses are bad, inevitable

A lot of money for unforeseen expenses

It is better not to get sick

You will also suffer and yours will you will struggle with Wisdom, Sobriety, a virtuous life and with personal responsibility

Like a storm the expenses and like hail so the disease slaughters you doubly and when you get involved with the hospitals steel your strength my friend to endure

To the god Asclepius you will pray to Hippocrates to be grateful, Medicine began here to

the doctors and nurses a thank you reasonable complaints about the system you will certainly have

The Minotaur to defeat to acquire Ariadne’s thread and from the

Fates ask for a little luck only Zeus can help you to grant you a good old age no one will avoid his Eimarmene

even the gods are convinced of ‘her but with Athena and she waves her hand, healthy and eternal to become

Everything is fleeting and pain and suffering nothing will remain in the end only the experiences from the long journey the more numerous and good, the richer you will become When Ariadne suffers automatically her thread transfers to you electromagnetically you are tied to her with long-standing bonds forged And when she leaves first because thus the Almighty decrees you will not be free she will still carry you in her invisible web she has woven you No matter what you do that spell still works for you and has haunted you so that you will not find another like a great witch But you do not fall, do not bend to resist and conquer the rest of your years in peace and as long as you are able to create in a little after all, you will… meet her and then you will give her a kiss of Love from her own tears of pain the terrible sufferings are pointless the absurd excesses of emigration Thus the curtain will close, you will have a wonderful view covered with the Greek flag of the eternal journey and the sweet and bitter dreams fleeting I will say grateful to Zeus and Gaia who tolerated my every madness A man of three eras of Turkish genocides, wars and disasters, in Sidirokastro before the war with the lamp a kick from the Italian conqueror in the Kyparissia bazaar, without teasing him,  this skin!

in Athens during the German Occupation, children would pick them up every morning with a shovel

The greatest honor thatI served my country

I met the witch Technology in Hermes  Signal Corp.

My generation lived in austerity  but happily Now enslaved by technology People far from nature

They went crazy and act against nature Our leaders went insane Democracy and Morals go too (27/6/25)
