KRONE AND JUPITER: FOUNDERS OF WORLD CIVILIZATION

THIS  STUDY MADE BY:Konstantinos Konstantinidis Amphiktyon

King Kronos and his family were the first to bring the world out of the primitive era and created the first world civilization. Of course, the Greek gods are human and not like the Jewish god who dwells in the afterlife. Kronos’ family originates from Crete. The first indigenous people of Crete were the Eteocretans and the Idaean Dactyls and after them the Kouretes. During the Kouretes’ period, the Titans inhabited the country of Knossos, where ruins, plots of land of Rhea and groves of cypresses were preserved. These were preserved until the time of Diodorus, as he mentions them. The Titans were called the sons of Uranus and Earth or Titia or the six (6) Curetes: Cronus, Hyperion, Coeus, Iapetus, Oceanus and Creon or Creon and five (5) Titanides: Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe and Tethys. Some of them discovered many useful things for humans. They did not talk much about Uranus because it seems that they did not stay there long before descending to earth. The Titan Hyperion discovered the movements of the Sun and the Moon, and Prometheus, son of Iapetus, invented fire, what they call “fire” stones that generate fire through friction. Ceeus and Phoebe gave birth to Leto. Of the Titans, Mnemosyne invented the names of everything, how to think and measure and how to remember the things necessary for common life. Themis invented oracles, sacrifices, laws, good governance, peace and tranquility King Kronos They say that he was the oldest of the Titans and exercised a just and lawful kingdom, taught justice, simplicity and acacia to people and made them eat good food. His kingdom was called “Golden Ages” Because all people were equal and enjoyed all goods, good administration and justice. He was powerful and ruled many places in the West. He married Rhea’s sister and gave birth to Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Zeus, Pluto and Poseidon, who invented many useful things like their ancestors. Hestia invented the building of houses (architect), Demeter the wheat that grew among the weeds (agriculturist). She gathered seeds and began the sowing of wheat and its harvest. Enraged after Pluto’s abduction of Persephone, she burned all the grain that was in the storehouses. After the return of Persephone, he reconciled with Zeus and gave seeds to Triptolemus and sent him to teach sowing to the peoples of the world and from this he took the name Thesmophoros Poseidon (sailor) devoted himself to the construction of the first ships and built a powerful fleet and the navy. Because of this, Kronos gave him the hegemony of the fleet, calling him “admiral”. At the same time, he invented the equestrian art and was also called Hippolytus. Pluto invented burials and funeral honors that did not exist until then. (undertaker) Zeus was raised on the mountain for fear of Kronos. Thus, that mountain and the surrounding meadows were sacred to him. It is said that when the Kurites brought him to hide him in his cave, his navel fell in place of Triton and the place was called Omphalon. When Zeus grew up, he became superior in all the mental and physical virtues of all people up to that time. As for the kingdom of Cronus, there are two versions: First: That he received an oracle that one of his sons was going to take the kingdom from him and that is why they did not show his children, but raised them secretly. Second: That he legally reigned without any violence. The fact of hiding his children shows that the first version is more prevalent Kingdom of Zeus In any case, after the death of Cronus, Zeus took over as king according to the law and reigned without any violence towards his father First, he fought the Titans in Crete. The Titans had a leader named Mylinus (from Mylos?). Preparing for this war, he sacrificed to Uranus, Helios and Earth. He defeated the Titans completely due to their discord when Musaeus defected to Zeus. After the destruction of the Titans, he fought the Giants in Phrygia, who were led by Typhon, as well as other Giants in Pallini in Macedonia and Phlegra in Italy. Then he went throughout the world and destroyed the villains and benefited those who did good deeds. He gave rewards to his allies and brothers and established just laws and judges so that the weak would not be wronged by the strong. In his state he imposed Eunomy, Justice and democratic Equality among all people, he built the first city near Mount Diktis where he was born. The ruins survived until Diodorus, and there his marriage with Hera was celebrated near the Therinus River.  ,

From his marriage he gave birth to Aphrodite, Athena, Eileithyia, Artemis, the Hours, the Graces, the Muses, Hephaestus, Ares. Apollo, Hermes, Dionysus, Hercules. He had Hera as his wife but they do not say with which women he gave birth to his children. Some of his children were inventive and did public service work, while the others took over the supervision of Zeus’ works. He appointed Aphrodite to take care of the age of virgins and their weddings and ceremonies (youth-beauty). He appointed the Graces to take care of women so that they would be pleasing to men (appearance and politeness), the decent beautification of women so that they would not appear wild, disgusting, abominable to each other and hateful and difficult but also antisocial. They sought to domesticate them. They took care of the compliments and gifts, but also the rewards and thanks of the donors so that they would be encouraged and set an example in society. They made a social revolution at that time. Eileithyia took care of pregnant women (gynecologist) and childbirth. The Hours in the maintenance of Eunomia, justice and peace as defined by Zeus Athena domesticated the olive tree (agriculture and crafts) and invented their cultivation, the harvesting of the fruit and the processing and use of olive oil. Also women’s works such as: making clothes, handicrafts, masonry, the flute and other useful works, hence the name “Ergane”. Artemis specialized in the nutrition and treatment of infants (pediatrician) hence the name “kourotrofos” The Hours took care of the observance of law, order, justice (police) Everything was under the supervision of Zeus. The Muses invented letters and the composition of Epics (education-poetics) at the behest of Zeus. To those who said that the Syrians invented letters and the Phoenicians brought them to Greece, the Greeks refuted them, saying that neither the Syrians nor the Phoenicians invented letters, because the Greeks preceded them many years ago in finding letters. They simply took them from the Greeks and transformed them. Hephaestus was engaged in the processing of metals (iron, copper, gold, silver, etc.) by fire. Ares was the first to manufacture military armor, the brave trait and noble adornment of the race for the defense of the homeland and the repelling of enemies and tyrants. He also invented the tactical art and strategy, the combative energy in battles (encirclement) as well as the cleansing of the earth from the disobedient, murderers and criminals, as his father Zeus did, he eliminated those harmful to the common peace. Apollo invented the guitar, guitar playing, the bow and archery, and divination. Later, his son Asclepius invented true medicine through medicines, which he performed through appropriate medicinal plants and surgery, for which he was called the father of true medicine. Hermes invented epikyriki (messenger), conciliation and libations in wars. Also, measures and weights, commercial profit, the palaestra, eloquence, recitation and the lyre. He made this lyre after the misfortune of Marsyas, when Apollo, in repentance, crushed the guitar. Dionysus was born of Zeus and Persephone and was involved in the vine, winemaking, entertainment and cultural campaigns in the world. Orpheus introduced him to the festivals of the Greeks and his end was tragic. He was dismembered by the Titans Hercules was the bravest and most just and he roamed the earth and spread civilization to the wild peoples of the time. At the same time, he punished criminals and tyrants, killed the beasts that harmed people. He also came to Egypt, which is why they honored him there. Finally, he died invulnerable and invincible In Crete, it is said that Brytomartis and Ploutos were born. Athena was born at the sources of the Triton River there and from this she was called Tritogeneia and had a sanctuary where she was born. From ancient times they were celebrated openly and it was known to all people in Knossos and from there the other Greeks received the mysteries of Eleusis and Samothrace and celebrated them secretly. From there the Gods, rushing, traveled throughout the world teaching the professions for the benefit of people and because of this the Greeks were honored everywhere. Demeter passed to Attica and from there to Sicily and then to Egypt. Aphrodite came first to Sicily and after a while where she stayed in the city of Eryx, she returned to the island of Kythera and from there she went to Paphos in Cyprus and finally to Syria and was honored in those places named as Eryx, Kytheria, Paphia and Syria. Apollo spent most of his time in Delos, Lycia and Delphi. Artemis in Ephesus, Pontus, Persia and Cresia. These were said by those who wrote the Cretan traditions, but they were destroyed by the uncivilized hordes. We know this from Diodorus who preserved them Commentary
