Fortunity is luck, fate, the inevitable, destiny, that which predetermines under what conditions an event is going to happen. According to ancient philosophers, Fortunity is the power that subjects all people to its will. It is related to supreme forces of the Universe that exceed human will. However, this does not mean that man is not responsible for what will happen in his life. Plutarch writes about Fortunity: “…only fortifying and as fortifying the following to those that precede in divine order” [Transl. Eimarmena and according to the eimarmeni (we must call) what is consequent to those that preceded in terms of order It is the path we take, but also the choices we make that affect our future. The word derives from the verb “meiromai” (participle of the past tense), which means I receive the share that belongs to me. As a proper noun, it is the personification of the greatest power, which dominates Nature and regulates the actions of people. It is considered the sovereign of the Fates, the Greatest Fate, the one appointed by God as the guardian of cosmic law. It is a creation of Ionian philosophy, deified by the Stoics and elevated to the greatest divinity, which determines everything. Since the time of Alexander the Great, the astrological concept of the Eimarmeni has been widespread, namely that the position of the stars shapes the fate of man, a doubtful fact. The Eimarmeni creates events, the treatment of some of which depends on the free will of the individual to make them inevitable or not. The phrase of the Roman philosopher Seneca is characteristic: ” Ducunt volentem fata, nolentem trahunt” that is, “He who wants, the fates lead, he who does not want, they drag” Consequently, the Eimarmeni is not everything that is destined to happen, but only what is consequent, whether or not, to what the soul does. Because since the soul is self-propelled, it is also responsible for its overall course. Its evolutionary course is due to its own motivations and its own actions. It is all that remains indelibly imprinted in the memory of each current incarnation “The soul only carries the education and food it has received” says Socrates. How sad will the fate of our children who are deprived of proper education be? Has it occupied even in the interim the “fathers of the nation” who quarrel and who spend all their energy in the barren landscape of Tempi? This is a matter: 1/ Of Justice 2/ Of the Government to ensure that the railway will never again become an instrument of the fate of those who travel by rail. The external conditions that concern the spatiotemporal performance of the actions of each life, escape the soul. The invisible motives of these actions are forever imprinted in the diachronic memory. Empedocles says “…argaleas biotoio metalassonta keleuthos” [tedious mutating paths of life] In order to be able to understand the deeper meaning of our ancient ancestors, we must accept transmigration. The mutation of the soul is the state of death of the body which is lost. The soul does not die but mutated is taken on by another carrier. This explains the Immortality of the Soul. In each cycle the soul undergoes purifications until it is perfected and understands the Heavenly Law in order to reach the gods. Therefore, the Immortal is not only the sum of the actions of a mortal’s life, but it also draws from afar of the mutations he has undergone in the past. The loss of memory of the actions of previous lives is a work of Divine Providence and should not be violated for any reason. This eternal mutation of Empedocles pre-exists in the thought of Heraclitus “…we live their death and they live our death” (…we live their death and they live our own death) (Heraclitus, Apost., 77) As a conclusion, it follows that in order to improve the Immortal of our children and descendants, it is absolutely necessary to educate them. For this, technological education is not enough. Education is the shaping of the individual so that he becomes Virtuous. Only then will he have the Immortal on his side. (20/3/25)
