IMMORTALITY Written by Konstantinos Konstantinidis Amphictyon It is difficult for man to think that at some point he will have an end, as before his appearance. The cloud of particles and particles will stop rotating and will dissolve into the things he was composed of like a sudden tornado. He came, saw and departed in infinitesimal fractions of time compared to eternity. This very nothingness of his existence is for man the greatest terror which philosophers call “existential anguish”. Only in our dreams do we experience conditions of drowning, closure or even virtual death. Death opens the way for the birth of new life as happens with all species in nature From the desire to continue life, the expectation of man’s Immortality arises. He wants his personal existence not to end with death so that life has meaning. In fact, some leave orders for their dead bodies to be frozen so that they can come back to life when medicine can deal with the disease that caused them to die. So what is the point of the struggle, the pain, the sweat, the sacrifices, the pride and the greed in the life of the temporary man? Why does he accumulate so much wealth with which he could live for centuries, depriving the many? Modern nihilism has constructed and raised the emblem of the tragic heroism of that which commands one to fight bravely for a lost cause. This elevates man to the pedestal of the hero, that he can overcome even this death heroically. How many people can giving up the struggle send to suicide or even make them marginal? . For his perpetuation, man discovered the resurrection from the dead and incorporated it into his worship. Why, while Christ was resurrected, should not each of us also be resurrected on the “Day of Judgment” according to Christian doctrine? And while he cannot stop death, he has devoted himself to extending the limit of his life by various means. The body, consisting of matter, certainly decomposes and nature uses its materials for other purposes of its own. However, the Soul, as energy and as reason, is believed not to be lost and returns to its lender. Another version of immortality is the morality that as long as we honor the dead, they do not perish but remain with us. I have experienced this personally since we erected the bust of my hero Peter in the place where he fell dead from the bullets of the German troops. I feel that his soul has returned to us. Plutarch has written about the loss of his daughter Timoxena. People usually overcome the pain of death by forgetting. I do not advise you to do so, Plutarch says to his wife, because “I am afraid that along with the grief we may lose the sweet memory of our girl. Only those who are forgotten die. They also say that souls are not lost and are with us as they are invisible, weightless and loved ones are with us and accompany us or inspire us or encourage us or advise us in extreme moments That is why we should keep the memory of the fallen heroes alive with honors, statues and images I advise my valuable friends who follow me to donate part of their wealth to donations and charitable institutions and good causes so that they may have longevity and happiness in life (20/8/25) Author, Member of the Society of Greek Writers amphiktyon@gmail.com http://amphiktyon.blogspot.com/ https://amphiktyon.org Anyone who wishes to be deleted should return this with the indication “deletion” “in accordance with article 14 of the law 2672/98
