\u201cWe Greeks are indigenous,\u201d writes Herodotus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Greeks are indigenous to the Greek lands. From the most ancient times, they travelled and settled throughout almost the entire known world: Europe, the Black Sea, Asia Minor, Palestine, Africa, Asia (India\u2013Tibet\u2013China\u2013Laos\u2013Japan<\/em>), the Pacific Ocean (Polynesia, Indonesia, Melanesia, Micronesia<\/em>), Atlantis and the American continent<\/strong> (mainly in the southern regions and elsewhere<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They mapped the known and unknown world of their time (the North and South Poles of the Earth<\/em>), according to the Ptolemaic maps as they have survived to our days through the Byzantines (Piri Reis maps<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Genealogical trees and the Greek peoples<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These were recorded in ancient times by Hesiod<\/strong> and other very ancient writers in the various Greek forms of writing: Hieroglyphic, Symbolic, Linear Script A and B. Hesiod<\/strong> copied from the steel tablets of the Museum of Helicon the first history and events of the Greeks and the Aegean Land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Classical period, various historians and, above all, dramatic writers drew from the ancient texts forgotten events concerning the Greek race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, the Greek genealogical records were never brought together, and only individual scholars made commendable attempts to collect them; nor were they arranged chronologically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Hesiod<\/strong>, Homer<\/strong>, Apollodorus<\/strong>, Diodorus<\/strong> and other ancient writers and poets, the genesis of the world is presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Beginning of the World \u2013 The Sovereignty of Time<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the beginning there was eternal Time<\/strong>, sovereign over all things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then Gaia<\/strong> and Eros<\/strong> appeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time gave birth to Chaos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chaos gave birth to Erebus<\/strong> and Night<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erebus gave birth to Aether<\/strong> and Day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Night were born:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morus<\/strong>, Ker<\/strong>, Death<\/strong>, Sleep<\/strong> (dreams<\/em>), Momus<\/strong>, Oizys<\/strong>, the Hesperides<\/strong>, the Moirai<\/strong>, the Keres<\/strong>, and Nemesis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deceit<\/strong>, Philotes<\/strong>, Old Age<\/strong>, and Eris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Eris:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pain, Oblivion, Famine, Sorrows, Hyaminai, Fears, Battles, Manslayings, Victory, False Words, Disputes, Lawlessness, Deceit and Oath.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time = Nebulous<\/strong>, an immaterial and eternal state of the Universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time\u2013Cronus gave birth to Chaos.<\/strong> According to the Orphic religion (a monotheistic philosophy said to date to 11,832\u201313,832 BCE<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chaos<\/strong> = (Ovid, Met. 1.5<\/em>) confused matter from which the World emerged. \u201cChaos first came into being as the first existing thing<\/strong>\u201d \u2026 \u201cthe dark and first living principle of all living things in the world<\/strong>.\u201d From it arose Earth<\/strong> and Tartarus<\/strong>. Eros<\/strong>, in turn, gave birth to Erebus<\/strong> (the lightless darkness<\/em>) and Night<\/strong>, which together with Erebus<\/strong> gave birth to Aether<\/strong> and Day<\/strong>, while Earth<\/strong> gave birth to Uranus<\/strong>, the Mountains<\/strong>, and Pontus<\/strong>. (Hesiod, Theogony 116<\/em>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erebus<\/strong> = a place of darkness according to Hesiod. According to Homer, Erebus was a place of darkness between Earth and Hades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Night<\/strong> = darkness that gave birth to Day. The Orphics believed that\u2026 (In the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus there was a statue of Night, a work of Rhoikos. Night produced the destructive beings\u2014monsters.<\/em>) Only the following will be mentioned:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a\/<\/strong> Nemesis<\/strong> = she assigns to each person the portion of happiness or misery that corresponds to them (a work by Phidias existed at Rhamnous<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

b\/<\/strong> Deceit<\/strong> = deceives virtuous souls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

c\/<\/strong> Philotes<\/strong> = erotic desire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

d\/<\/strong> Old Age<\/strong> = prepares the end of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

e\/<\/strong> Eris<\/strong> = the mother<\/em> of all good things as well as all evil things. We Greeks have her permanently as a friend only when it comes to evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commentary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1\/<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many lies have been told by ignorant and malicious foreigners about the origin of the Greeks\u2014that, supposedly, we descend from the Indo-Europeans, who came from nowhere, left no civilization anywhere, but only a few common words or derivatives found in various languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2\/ The originator of the Indo-European theory, Sir William Jones (1746\u20131794):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1786, in a speech in Calcutta, he pointed out the systematic relationship between Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, Gothic and Celtic<\/strong>. This, of course, happens because the Greeks travelled throughout the world from the most ancient times and transmitted, together with their civilization, the Greek language as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A superficial linguistic theory eventually came to regard the brilliant Greek civilization as a borrowing from uncivilized lands, without this gentleman having carefully studied the ancient Greek writers and Greek literature before advancing the theory that troubled the Greek nation for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3\/<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second falsifier, the German Jakob Philipp Fallmerayer<\/strong>, arbitrarily argued in his theory that the ancient Greeks had been largely replaced demographically by Slavs and Albanians<\/strong> during the Middle Ages, thereby questioning the demographic continuity between the ancient and modern Greeks. The Greek Revolution of 1821 disproved him, because both Macedonia and Epirus rose in revolt against the Turks and Ali Pasha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4\/<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cosmogony of the ancient Greeks presents certain interesting similarities with modern cosmological conceptions, particularly the idea that the universe did not exist from the beginning in its present form, but emerged from an initial state and evolved. However, it does not constitute a scientific theory equivalent to modern cosmology, which is based on observations, mathematical models and experimental testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheless, there are still uncertainties and different scientific hypotheses concerning the origin and evolution of the universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
