{"id":4579,"date":"2026-08-09T12:49:57","date_gmt":"2026-08-09T09:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amphiktyon.org\/?p=4579"},"modified":"2026-08-09T12:49:57","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T09:49:57","slug":"the-festival-of-the-goddess-athena","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amphiktyon.org\/?p=4579","title":{"rendered":"THE FESTIVAL OF THE GODDESS ATHENA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Next Saturday, we celebrate the great festival of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and patron goddess of Athens, whom Christians renamed the Virgin Mary, the mother of Christ, and whose worship has become a mass religious observance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>People cross themselves in the churches and crawl on their knees to the church dedicated to her on the island of Tinos, in order to worship her like sheep.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Such a regression could certainly never have been imagined by our ancient ancestors. Absurd stories that reason itself is unable to comprehend.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No one has asked why, back then, we were inventive and created civilization, whereas today we import foreign rubbish, like monkeys.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And why are Greeks of the Diaspora still creative, while we in Greece have become so thoroughly devalued?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>May she help us.
