The phenomenon tends to replace the law and create anarchy. The crimes due to vendetta, to fanaticism, to students, to the world of drugs and to the mafia are the tentacles of the Lernaean Hydra that has firmly embraced the entire society. Its brain and the generative cause is our fragile political system. It all starts with the tolerance that this shows due to “party interest” and less to the weakness of the competent bodies. In primitive times, auto-justice was in force. The strong took the law into their own hands and imposed their will. Zeus was the first to deal with bandits and anarchy, implementing stricter laws, and later the Democratic regime in Greece institutionalized the Courts to punish criminals. Today, crime and all forms of violence (school, fan, anarchy, terrorism, drug violence, economic crime, etc.) have a common cause, the “political cost”. That is, our political system turns a blind eye to all forms of violence in order to win “votes”. This has tied the hands of Justice and the Police and essentially the laws favor the mechanisms of violence. If the situation gets out of hand and is not addressed in a timely manner, it will lead us to abnormal solutions. The great tolerance has exceeded its limits. Let’s say it clearly, the rotten political system is to blame. During the junta, we left the doors open and we are safe. The post-colonial era was a breeding ground for all kinds of anomalies. It brought Anarchy, Terrorism, School violence (school strikes), Drugs (plant marijuana in pots), Disobedience to the law (the cops) and with illegal immigration, the foreign mafia also entered in collaboration with the local one Anyone who proposes taking strict measures is considered authoritarian, anti-democratic and “junta-like”. Thus we descended into today’s anarchy, crime and general violence where the citizen is at the mercy of criminal gangs, even in his own home, the child on the street is in danger from the hooligan, the passerby from the drug addict or the illegal immigrant, the natives in the center of Athens and in some neighborhoods are in danger at night and Greece is becoming an unsafe country. The following measures are proposed to be taken:

1/ The incompetent political system should wake up and put the “political cost aside, otherwise a dynamic popular movement will sweep it away in order to tame crime and violence.

2/ Repeat offenders of the law should be sent to a reformatory on a desert island and there, with special education, should be made law-abiding citizens

3/ Justice should be made independent and the highest judges should be elected from their branch by the best and not by party extras

4/ The law should apply to EVERYONE without exceptions, even for ministers and Prime Ministers. The current constitution was made by their own constitutionalists to perpetuate the current kleptocratic system in power

5/ Sentences should be made stricter and served. The big lawyers of the Parliament have made their laws to suit themselves in order to enrich themselves from crime.

6/ Policing should be tightened and the Police should become effective based on new electronic technology, so that it prevents crime and not investigates it afterwards. The political power should stop having the hands of the Police tied to the suppression of Anarchy, Weapons Carrying and Use and Juvenile Crime. All weapons in the country should be confiscated and especially in Crete.

7/ Education should be changed and the role of the Teacher should be activated. Civic Education and Virtue should be taught from ancient Greek Literature.

8/ The media should stop presenting crime and criminals in a heroic manner, instead of showing their hideous and negative side and at the same time providing moral education with expert speakers.

9/ Ban violent films on the small screen and SMS

Mr. Mitsotakis could very well become a national leader, but he lacks the political will due to his old-party mentality (EURYVIA is the super violence) (6/11/25} *Amphiktyon Major General Konstantinos Konstantinidis Author, Member of the Society of Greek Writers http://www.amphiktyon.blogspot.com (My main blog AMPHIKTYON ARTICLES & BOOKS-POEMS(old) AMPHIKTYON.BLOGSPOT.COM (In English) ANCIENT OLYMPICS-ATHLETICS (The Olympic Games) amphiktyon-poetry.blogspot.com (My poetry collection) AMPHIKTYONBOOKS (Books, Studies and timeless texts) https://amphiktyon.org (My personal website)

Written by Konstantinos Konstantinidis of Amphiktyon It is time for citizens and the state to confront the rise of violence.
